3Facing a Bar
First of all fix the bar in the chuck with the
chuck key.

To Face the end of this bar start by lowering the
Safety Guard

Now use the Saddle Wheel to move the tool closer
to the workpiece

Next use the Compound slide to move the toolpost
in until it is ready to cut

Now switch On the lathe
8Facing a Bar
Finally use the cross slide to pass the lathe
tool across the face of the bar taking a fine
even paced cut.

Switch the Lathe Off
10Facing a Bar
Use the Saddle wheel to return the lathe tool to
its original position then lift the guard.
11This process may have to be repeated more than
once
