• Studied astronomy and developed writing and means
  of arithmetic.

  his 8 ships did make it around the world.

• Amerigo Vespuci

• Italian Merchant who suggested that Columbus had
  not found the orient but a New World.
• A German Map-maker who was drawing a map of this
  area named it America after the merchant
