The Final Push

• The plan was called General Offensive, General
  Uprising
• They were going to cut South Vietnam in half by
  taking Ben Me Thuot

The Plan in Action

• When they cut the South in half it triggered a
  massive panic with thousands of fleeing civilians
• This was called The Convoy of Tears

The Convoy of Tears

• Lasted 15 days and nights
• 320th division of the North Vietnamese constantly
  attacked them
• 40,000 people died on the road

Cities Falling

• Da Nang was the city were most civilians fled and
  when the north surround it, it had a massive
  airlift
• Of the 2 million civilians there, only 50,000
  escaped
• The rest were caught in the crossfire of the
  North and South

• Many cities fell with some only lasting 30
  minutes to 3 hour battles
• When the North moved in on Saigon the South made
  one last stand

The Last Battle

• One of the biggest battles was the Xuan Loc
  battle were a group of the Souths soldiers in
  50 condition held off a division of North
  soldiers or 4 companies for 15 days

Operation Babylift

• first of the 3 operations
• During April 4th 14th 1975
• 2,600 children brought to America
