To provide a wireless link for a wide variety of
lighting controllers utilizing the industry
standard DMX-512 protocol.

  • Range The desired range between the control
unit and the power pack(s) should be a minimum of
    one hundred feet.
  • Protocol The data will be transmitted using the
    industry standard protocol DMX-512.
  • Frequency The frequency of operation will be in
the VHF range at 433 MHz. This choice is to
    eliminate possible interference with other
    devices in the close proximity.
  • XLR Data Port The XLR data port is the industry
standard for lighting controller ports. Pin
1-neutral, pins 2 3 carries the DMX signal,
and pins 4 5 are unused.
  • Power Requirements The power supply will be 9
volts dc. This will supply the power for the
    transmitter/receiver and accompanying circuitry
which requires 5 vdc and 3 mA.
  • Receiver / Transmitter Input Output Levels
The input levels will range between 0 5 volts.
  • Antenna Characteristics In order to meet the
size and technical requirements, a quarter-wave
    monopole antenna will be used.
  • Cost The cost should be held to a minimum. Our
goal is to keep the retail price less than
    150.00 for each individual unit.
