Computer Account

• Each student will be given
• One Windows Login account
• One Authcate account
• Each account is password protected. You should
  change your password regularly and must not share
  it with anyone.

Windows Login Account

• To register for Windows Login account, please go
  to the Learning Commons and seek assistance from
  the IT helpdesk.
• The Windows login account is required to access
  the computers on campus and provide local network
  printing and shared drives.
• You will need your student ID number

Authcate Account

• To register for Authcate accounts yourself
• Logon to the computer using Usernameregister,
  passwordregister then go to www.monash.edu/studen
  ts/computer
• An Authcate account is required to get access
  to Monash resources like library system, Email,
  MUSO, My.Monash, wireless network and other
  systems. Please visit www.monash.edu/students/comp
  uter to obtain or change your Authcate passwords.

• 12 Computer labs in Building 9, Level 4 5
• 38 Special purpose labs in the following schools
  Arts, Med, Eng Infotech
• The Library has a open computer lab.
• No quota imposed on Internet access,

Access to computers

• General access computers are located in the
  Library Learning Commons located in Building 7,
  Level 1 2. There are approximately 155 such
  computers.
• Access to the general access computers in the
  Learning commons will be based on the Library
  opening hours.

Access to computers in Labs

• The computer labs in Building 9, Level 4 will
  generally be booked for classes throughout most
  days, however students are welcome to use them in
  between booked classes and computer labs in
  Building 9, Level 5 can be used for general
  access.

Computer Lab Rules

• Students are not permitted to display or transmit
  offensive or obscene material, play computer
  games, listen to music or use IRC.
• No Food, No Drink in the computer labs.
• The PCs are meant for purpose of research and
  study only.
• Please find time to read instructions / policies
  at vicinity of the lab areas.
• No P2P, Online games

Computer Lab hours

• Monday to Friday - 830am to 530pm
• Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
• The IT helpdesk will operate during normal
  working hours only.

Printing Photocopying

• First 150 pages Free
• Subsequent pages
• A new self top-up printing credit reload
  system is available in the Learning Commons.
  Please consult the ITS Helpdesk for assistance on
  how to use this facility.
