1
Scholastic IVR with Out-Dialer
iVoice Now Supports the Education Market with
Custom NBX Software...
iVoices full feature based IVR Application
Generator incorporates an Out-Dial feature
allowing a customizable pre-recorded message to
be delivered to identified parties at specific
phone numbers at specific times. The iVoice IVR
can also be programmed to receive and write
information to a database from inbound calls to
obtain important information from a student or
faculty population. A Graphical User Interface
allows seamless database connectivity and can
provide information to the call recipient with
such real-time information as
iVoices absence notification capabilities help
reduce student absenteeism and alert parents of
absence situations. With this knowledge, parents
can resolve the situation before it causes severe
problems for the student, parents and the
school. iVoices Absence Notification System
relieves your staff of the need to spend their
time calling the parents of absent students each
day. The system accesses the names and phone
numbers of absent students from the schools
database. Then the system automatically calls
those phone numbers and plays a pre-recorded
message informing parents of their childs
absence. The system can be programmed to make
calls only during specific times, such as evening
hours, when parents are most likely to be home.
When parents receive absence-notification calls,
the system asks them to confirm theyve received
the call.
  • Notification to parents of students
    reported absent.
  • Confirmation of a school closing or delayed
    opening.
  • Notification of past due tuition.
  • Confirmation of class registration or
    acceptance.
  • Etc.

  • The outbound call can be supervised to detect
that the call was answered by
  •
  • An answering machine and leave a message
  • Voicemail box and leave a message
  • Human voice and leave a message
  • Detect busy and ring no answer for call back

The Out-Dialer application is a stand-alone unit,
which acts as a primary system. The system
accesses the names and phone numbers of absent
students from the schools computer or database.
Then the system automatically calls identified
phone numbers and plays a pre-recorded message
informing parents of their childs absence. This
message can be customized for each school in your
district. Through a controlled database object,
the following procedures can be addressed
  • Number retries, in the event of a busy or no
    answer condition
  • Telephone number to call
  • Which message to play
  • Unlimited user-defined absence reasons.
  • Notification back to another application, with
    the results of the call.

  • Additional Functionality
  • Can serve as a "Bulletin Board" where parents can
call in to hear a pre-recorded message about
daily homework assignments or upcoming school
    activities and events.
  • Can be set to call staff members regarding
inclement weather or other emergency affecting
the start of school or forcing a school closing.
  • All tasks can be activated remotely from a
    touch-tone phone.
  • Example of an Outbound Call
  • The system calls the students home and states
this is "ABC School Attendance System.
  • This call is to inform you that John Smith was
absent from school today, please call the main
    office."
  • Example of an Inbound Call
  • Faculty can upload daily homework assignments to
the system via email or recorded voice message. A
parent can call into the system and request a
specific mailbox or extension to determine their
childs daily homework assignments. The system
will automatically respond by playing the
recorded message or via spoken voice through
text-to speech conversion, exactly what their
    childs teacher assigned.
  • Implementation of any of the features of the
iVoice Scholastic IVR with Out-Dialer can provide
many benefits to a school district by means of
increased efficiency and productivity of faculty.
    Providing greater communication with parents
through the use of a centralized communication
    platform allows for improved parent-teacher-studen
t relations keeping the students education at
the forefront of school systems objective.
