• Suranaree University of Technology, SUT, is a
  public research-oriented university that has
  recently been ranked among the top-three research
  universities and top-ten teaching universities in
  Thailand by the Ministry of Education in the year
  2006. It was established 16 years ago at Nakhon
  Ratchasima province in north-eastern Thailand
  according to the Royal Thai government policy to
  promote the creation of higher education
  opportunities in regional and rural areas. It is
  the first autonomous state university that has
  high levels of independence and flexibility, the
  ability to develop its own organization and work
  system, to lessen steps in operations, and to use
  existing resources to the most benefit with
  economy. One of the universitys main missions is
  to train high-level scientific and technological
  personnel and to engage in research for the
  creation and enhancement of knowledge to meet
  national development needs via both national and
  international cooperation. SUT has signed a
  number of MoU with universities in EU and is
  active in regional and worldwide university
  networks such as AUAP, ASEA-UNINET, WACE, IAU,
  and ASAIHL. Many conferences and workshop both
  national and international have also been held at
  SUT.
