Overview

• This project examines how children 4 and 5 years
  of age can enhance their learning of art and
  geometry principles by their interaction with a
  portable multisensory device used outside of the
  classroom environment.
• My thesis exploration for this project requires
  study in the domains of the use of sensors in
  interactive digital technologies and of education
  in art and geometry in early childhood.

Digital ball and cube
The digital ball and cube are connected to a
controller box which is connected to a
computer The cube has three buttons for
software functions The ball has a tilt sensor
and a force sensor

Cube components

• The cube rests on the grid
• It moves top bottom
• left right
• diagonally

Ball components

• The ball is held in the hand
• The tilt sensor measures on the x and y axis
• The force sensor measures the pressure applied

Guide Book components

• Used as a guide for the software activities
• Builds from simple to complex examples

• It is composed of combinations of basic shapes
  from squares and rectangles to animals
• Its purpose is to guide and give examples and
  orientation
