  • Use the following formula to form the future

future tense
  • To talk about what someone is or isnt going to
    do, use the present tense of ir with a followed
    by an infinitive.
  • Vas a estudiar? Are you going to study?
  • No, voy a descansar. No, Im going to rest.
  • Van a salir? Are you going out?
  • Sí, vamos a comer. Yes, were going to eat.
  • To say that you are going to do something on a
    certain day of a particular week, use el before
    the weekday.
  • El sábado voy a ir de compras.
  • On Saturday Im going to go shopping.

  • Use los and a plural form of the day of the
    week to say you do something on that
    day every week.

  • To conjugate a regular er or ir verb in the
    present tense, drop the er or ir of the
    infinitive and add these endings.

Escribir-to write Yo escribo

  • Some er and ir verbs are beber (to drink),
    asistir (a) (to attend), abrir (to open), and
    interrumpir (to interrupt). To say that someone
    drinks something, use beber algo.
  • My dad drinks Coca-Cola sometimes.
  • Mi papá bebe Coca-Cola a veces.
  • You guys attend E.H.S.
  • Uds. asisten a E.H.S. / Vosotros asistís a E.H.S.
  • The teacher (fem.) opens the door for the
    students.
  • La profesora abre la puerta para los estudiantes.
  • The students never interrupt the teacher when she
    talks.
  • Los estudiantes nunca interrumpen a la profesora
    cuando ella habla.

  • A tag question is attached to the end of a
    sentence to make it a question. If you expect
    someone to answer yes, use no? or verdad? When
    the expected answer is no, use verdad?
  • - Youre coming to the party, arent you?
  • - Vienes a la fiesta, no? (verdad?)
  • - Yes, Im going to go.
  • - Sí, voy a ir.
  • - Youre not going to the game, right?
  • - No vas a ir al partido, verdad?
  • - No, Im not going to go.
  • - No, no voy a ir.

  • The preposition de is used after salir to talk
    about leaving a place. It is used after saber to
    say how much someone knows about something.

-Salgo de mi casa a las siete. I
leave my house at seven. -No sé mucho de
arte. I dont know much about art.
