3From Philippi We Learn
Philippians 415-16 You yourselves also know,
Philippians, that at the first preaching of the
gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared
with me in the matter of giving and receiving but
you alone16. for even in Thessalonica you sent a
gift more than once for my needs.
4From Philippi We Learn
- NOT to wait on others
- That once is not enough
Philippians 416 for even in Thessalonica you
sent a gift more than once for my needs.
5Philippians 410 14-5
- But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at
last you have revived your concern for me
indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked
opportunity. - always offering prayer with joy in my every
prayer for you all, 5. in view of your
participation in the gospel from the first day
until now.
6From Philippi We Learn
- NOT to wait on others
- That once is not enough
- That this was a praying church
71 Peter 310-12
- For, "THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE
GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS
LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.11. "HE MUST TURN AWAY
FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND
PURSUE IT.12. "FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE
TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO
THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST
THOSE WHO DO EVIL."
8Matthew 77-8
- "Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you
will find knock, and it will be opened to you.
8. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be
opened.
9From Philippi We Learn
- NOT to wait on others
- That once is not enough
- That this was a praying church
- That even good churches have opposition
Maybe external persecution
Maybe brethren shipwrecked
- Whether inside or out, mental or real
- There WAS cause for alarm
- It COULD divide them (or us)
10From Philippi We Learn
- NOT to wait on others
- That once is not enough
- That this was a praying church
- That even good churches have opposition
- A building is only as good as its foundation
11- 1 Corinthians 312-13
- Now if any man builds on the foundation with
gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13. each man's work will become evident
12- Philippians 315-16
- Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have
this attitude and if in anything you have a
different attitude, God will reveal that also to
you16. however, let us keep living by that same
standard to which we have attained.
God has given us a pattern to guide us By His
word, Teachers, The church. ARE YOU LIVING BY
HIS STANDARD?
