Where are these people going?
These people are going on a meet the boat trip
to the Markland Dam. I was standing on the river
when I saw the boat come around the bend. I had
10 cents in my pocket so I knew I could stand at
the railing drinking Coca-Cola and eating a
Hershey Bar. We will slowly boat up to the
Markland Dam where another boat would meet us and
wed have to walk the plank to the other boat. As
the sun sets everyone will start dancing on the
deck. I cant wait to get on board.

What are these men about to build?
These men are building riverboats. In the photo
you can see a paddle wheel and the house where
the captain sits. I think it would be hard work
because the men would have to saw and lift huge
pieces of wood to fit onto the boat. The
paddlewheel is bigger than the men so the wood
would have to be large!
