STANDARD GRADE GEOGRAPHYTOPICS
You will be issued with an A4 jotter. All your
class work will be done in this, and handouts
will be stuck in it as well.
There will be a topic booklet which will have all
the facts that you need to learn for the exam.
You will be issued with a course textbook- there
are three of these to cover the whole two-year
course.
This book will be swiped out to your name and you
will be responsible for its return later in the
year, when you will get the next one out.

STANDARD GRADE GEOGRAPHYTOPICS
There will be assessments from time to time that
will go towards your report cards.
There is a Prelim exam in November of your fourth
year and the main exam the following May.
There will be regular homework issued which you
are expected to hand in on time.

STANDARD GRADE GEOGRAPHYTOPICS
All geography classes are general ability level.
You will sit a general level exam in fourth
year. You will also sit EITHER a foundation level
OR a credit level exam on the same day. The
level that you sit will be up to you anyone from
any class can sit any level, depending on your
ability and how hard you work. The level you are
put in for depends on your classroom achievement.

We will be keeping a folio of your work- each
homework and all tests. This is for display at
Parents nights and also as evidence of your
achievement and improvement. It could also be
sent away in case there is an appeal after the
SCE exam.

STANDARD GRADE GEOGRAPHYTOPICS
You are expected to come to all classes and to be
on time- five minutes late and you will need an
explanation!
If you are absent, you are expected to find out
and get a copy of missed work. Check with a
classmate to see if homework was issued or a
handout given out.
You are expected to bring with you all the work
you need for the lesson pen, jotter, booklet and
brain-cell!

STANDARD GRADE GEOGRAPHYTOPICS
You are expected to follow all the usual school
rules, about eating, uniform and talking.
One rule special to this department is that you
do NOT wait outside the room when you arrive in
the Open Area unless your teacher tells you to
wait, COME STRAIGHT INSIDE !
