10The Verdict
EE Program
One concern
Criterion 2- Program Educational Objectives The
assessment survey instruments use a 3-point
scale (below average, average and above average),
which limits the opportunity to derive meaningful
statistical data.
Note The vision of the program is to provide a
world class educational and research experience
11Two observations
- The statics/dynamics course is unpopular with the
students and offered once a year which can delay
the students graduation - Students reported that they are not aware of any
actions taken in response to their student
evaluations every semester.
12CompE Program
One concern
Criterion 8- Program Criteria Graduates of the
program must demonstrate knowledge of
probability and statistics with applications
appropriate to computer engineering.
Note The course we were offering was called
Statistics for Electrical Engineers
13Lessons Learned
- All faculty (including adjunct faculty) must be
involved (No exceptions!!!). - Instructions should be clear and easy for any
Ph.D. to follow. - Student organizations, advisory boards, alumni,
companies can be very helpful. - Work closely with (push) the Deans office
- Write a Good Report
14Thank you
