X 2000 Refurbishing
When the SJ X 2000 high speed trains were
introduced in 1990 travelling by train in Sweden
became both more comfortable and much faster. In
order to keep up the standard and comfort all SJ
X 2000 trains will now be refurbished and
modernized.

  • The Sweden Rail Pass is only sold in Europe
  • Outside Europe the Sweden Rail Pass is replaced
    with the Eurail Sweden Pass (with almost
    identical conditions)

SJ point-to-point tickets in general
  • Normally SJ trains are sold as global priced
    trains, i.e. including reservation only valid
    in the train and on the date mentioned on the
    ticket.
  • 1st class (in X 2000 1st class and Premium),
    2nd class full fare tickets including seat
    reservation
  • Refund 2nd class full fare tickets only if
    ticket has been cancelled before departure
  • Refund 1st class full fare tickets refund
    possible even if ticket has not been cancelled
    before departure
  • 1st class and 2nd class Just Now (Just Nu)
    fares including seat reservation, available only
    for certain ACP-RailNet-users
  • Limited refund conditions (cancellation at least
    7 days before departure, cancellation fee), can
    be sold up to 1 day before departure, limited
    number of seats, price is changing from time to
    time

SJ Summer time tables
  • Bookings in the SJ trains for the summer period
    (June 18th - August 20th 2006) will be possible
    from April 26th, day trains and seats in the
    night trains will then be available up to 90 days
    before departure.
  • The SJ night trains (couchettes and sleepers)
    will be opened up for booking for the whole
    summer period on April 26th.
  • Bookings for the autumn from August 21st will be
    possible from June 21st.  
  • Final time tables will be available via
    www.resplus.se from beginning of May, preliminary
    time tables will be found at www.resplus.se/forhan
    d from April.

The rail services Gothenburg-Oslo, summer 2006
  • The trains Gothenburg-Oslo are run by NSB - no
    longer by SJ. NSB pricing and discounts are
    valid! NSB is responsible for ITX fares etc.
  • There are three daily trains between
    Gothenburg-Oslo and vice versa (two in the
    weekends)
  • The trains are the Norwegian BM73 units
  • Only 2nd class, however possibility to reserve
    seats in the Comfort class (complimenary
    coffee/tea, newspapers)
