Chiral technology a new tool for process
studies?

• Nature is predominantly left handed
• New technologies allow separations of enantiomers
  (i.e. L R)
• Therefore studies of chiral molecules permit
  distinctions between biotic and abiotic processes
  (or different types of biological process)
• Can we use chiral technologies as a tool to
• distinguish between e.g. biological and abiotic
  alterations of organic matter?
• elucidate transport mechanisms in water/
  atmosphere/ sediments?
• study adsorption/diagenetic processes at
  mineral-water and/or organism-mineral-water
  interfaces?
