3We shall walk together on this path of life, for
all things are part of the universe, and are
connected with each other to form one whole unity.
- Through new education, we must enable children to
grow up with a healthy spirit, a strong character
and clear intellect, so that as adults they will
not tolerate contradictory moral principles but
will gather human energies for constructive
purposes.
I pray, dear children, that you will be united
with me in the construction of peace for humanity
everywhere in the world.

recognize the value in different cultural norms.

25Co-existence
- Co-existence refers to the process of learning
how to live and work together in spite of
divergent cultural differences. - During this process cultural filters must be
removed, judgments withheld, expectations
lessened and patience practiced. - Co-existence requires taking responsibility for
our actions, developing skills of empathy,
problem solving and cross cultural communication.

- Commitment refers to the realization that people

39Sing This Is Our SongMusic Jan Sibelius
Lyrics Lloyd Stone Patti Yonka
- This is our song, a song of all the nations. A
song of peace for lands afar and mine. This is my
home, the country where my heart is Here are my
hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine But other
hearts in other lands are beating, - With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.
- This is our prayer, for all of the Earths
kingdoms Each land has worth and great work to
be done. And people hope for better days of
living And hearts united learn to live as one.
So hear our prayer, a song of all the nations - A song of peace, to learn to live as one.
