Assembly Drawings
  • Open a new drawing.
  • Standard.iam

Adding the Base
  • On the left side, click Place Component
  • Select your base part in the window and hit open
  • Your part should be on screen. Unless you need
    more than one base part, hit Escape.

Adding the Ruler
  • On the left side, click Place Component
  • Select your ruler part in the window and hit open
  • Click on the screen to place your part then hit
    Escape.

Adding the Rivets
  • On the left side, click Place Component
  • Select your rivet part in the window and hit open
  • Click on the screen to place four parts then hit
    Escape.

Joining the Ruler and the Base
  • On the left side, click Constraint.
  • Click on the face of the ruler where the numbers
    would be.
  • Rotate the part so you can see the face inside
    the U in the base that it should be mated to.
  • Click on the mating face.
  • Click OK.
  • Repeat for the bottom face of the ruler and the
    bottom of the groove.

Joining the Ruler and the Base
  • On the left side, click Constraint.
  • In the constraint pallet click Flush in the
    solution section.
  • Click on the face of the ruler that is flush with
    the side of the base.
  • Click on the flush face.
  • Click OK.

Checking the Alignment
  • Rotate the part to check and see if the hole line
    up.
  • If they do not line up, delete the ruler and
    start again.
  • The ruler might have been upside down or you may
    need to double check you hole dimensions.

Joining the Rivets and the Base
  • On the left side, click Constraint.
  • Click on the rivet when you get the line through
    the center of the part.
  • Go to the hole and click when you see a line
    through the center of the part.
  • Click OK.
  • Repeat for the other three rivets.

  • On the left side, click Constraint.
  • In the constraint pallet click Flush in the
    solution section.
  • Click on the flat face of the rivet.
  • Click on the face of the base that should be
    flush with the flat of the rivet.
  • Click OK.
  • Repeat for the other three rivets.

Congratulations!
  • Spin it around and take a look.
  • Youre done assembling your part!
  • Now you just need to do the print page.
  • Make sure you include a section drawing to show
    the rivet details!
