Students read and write in every class.

• All middle school students read the equivalent of
  8 books in English.
• All middle school students write in each class at
  least 3 times each week.

30 Minute Reading Block

• Teachers of all content areas participate.
• Before, during and after reading strategies and
  skills taught in the 30 minute block and
  practiced throughout the day.
• Note This block is in addition to the
  regular English class.

• 6-8 delivered via the Net
• Pre-testing determines students abilities.
• Students work at their own level and pace, but
  all cover the same material.
• Content is based on current events.
