Reading Renaissance
  • Goals based students ZPD range
  • Books selected in students reading zones
  • Student maintain reading folders
  • Goals Recording Sheet sent home weekly
  • Double Test Grade for Reading Comprehension each

Homework
  • Red homework folder turned in daily
  • Left pocket is for homework, notes, etc.
  • Right side is for student, cleaned out weekly
  • Bi-weekly assignment sheet in the middle
  • Monthly test/project calendar
  • Students record homework from board daily
  • Homework should never exceed 60 minutes
  • Students should read for 30 minutes each day at
    home.

  • Students should have binders to organize
  • All corrected class work
  • All corrected homework
  • All handouts
  • All study notes
  • Cleaned out after every unit/chapter

Absences/Early Dismissal
  • Note required explaining absence
  • Make-up work can be picked up at the end of the
    day (after 330)
  • Students expected to see teacher about make-up
    work
  • Long-term absences
  • Weeks notice to get lessons together
  • Please try to make appointments after 330. We
    teach until 325 every day.

Classroom Behavior/4th Grade Discipline Plan
  • Discipline book signed for
  • Not following rules
  • Not turning in homework
  • First time-warning
  • Second time, clip moved to yellow, recess lost,
    action plan written in detention, sent home for
    parent signature
  • Third offense on same daynote home, trip to
    office.
  • No homework is automatic red light and loss of
    recess.

Weekly Conduct Report
  • Sign and Return Blue Folders
  • Sign Form and Return Papers
  • Maintained for 9 weeks
  • Includes discipline plan and copy of rules

Grading Procedure
  • A 100-90
  • B 89-80
  • C 79-73
  • D 72-70
  • F 69 and below
  • Chapter/Unit tests count double
  • L.A. Grade 70/20/10
  • 10 points off per day for graded assignments
    turned in late (until a grade of 60)

  • See calendar for dates
  • Computer print outs for both
  • Sign and return Progress Reports
  • Sign and return envelope, keep Report Card
  • Reading Renaissance reports sent each time
  • Keep for reference
