14
Strategies for Rabi
  • To maintain Food and Nutrition security.
  • Bring more area under food grain crops.
  • To increase productivity,
  • Increase in SRR
  • Maximisation of seed treatment
  • Efficient management of on farm irrigation
    potential
  • Intensification of modern extension techniques
through Mass media , Kisan Call Centre, Mega
Farmer Fairs in each agro climatic zones etc.
  • Timely availability of quality inputs
  • Promotion and management of micro nutrients
  • Schematic Support to farmers

14
15
Strategies for Rabi
  • Sensitization of farmers on-
  • Maximizing use of hybrid / improved seeds
  • Balanced use of fertilizer INM
  • Promotion of IPM
  • Increased use of micro irrigation system
  • Location specific Crop planning adoption of
    recommended practices
  • Irrigation at different critical stages

15
16
Technology Dissemination
  • 3-5 days mega Kisan Mela in each Agro Climatic
Zone planned. 2.0 lakh farmers targeted to
    participate.
  • 71 LASER Land Levelers distributed for precision
    farming for the first time.

    and 14th october,09.
  • Recommendation of balanced use of fertilizer
through soil health cards before rabi sowing.
  • Intensive programme of Vermi/NADEP compost (2.08
lac) in 20 gram panchayats of all the districts

Monthwise Requirement of Fertilizer
( in Lakh M.T.)
  • Fertilizer distribution to be increased by 9.82
with emphasis on P and K.
  • Availability of urea no problem
  • During the peak sowing time of rabi,
availability of DAP always becomes problematic.
Hence, supply as per demand is must.
  • Due to failure of Monsoon an expected increase of
3.66 Lac Hec in Rabi Pulses. Additional demand of
    50000 M.T. of DAP.
  • Due to present drought situation, early sowing
is expected. Hence demand of DAP is also
    pre-poned by 50000 M.T. during Oct. and Nov 09.
