• The New York colony was establish in 1664
• The king of England found New York.

• New York was named after the Duke of York.
• The Duke of York was the king of England's
  brother.

• The population of the New York colony was less
  than 1,000 people.
• New York today has a population more than 30,000.
• That is a big difference in comparison!
