• Strontium is named after Strontian Scotland where
  it was first found.
• Strontium used to be used in making special glass
  for TV sets.
• Strontium is in the same group as calcium (Ca)
  and possesses many of the same properties. It
  can therefore accidentally end up in our bones
  and cause problems, especially if it is the
  radioactive type, Strontium-90
