  • To make history come alive (thus, interesting,
    engaging and meaningful)
  • Develop reading, writing, and analytical
    abilities, with emphasis on argumentative essays
  • Develop computer based technical organizational
    skills
  • To understand and challenge ones belief systems
  • To work hard and have some fun

How is HHC graded?
  • There is a heavy emphasis on analytical writing
    in this course and much of your grade will come
    from in-class and take-home essays.
  • Other factors that will influence your grade
    include effort and participation, web-based and
    imovie projects, and quizzes.

  • No, but there is a companion website to our
    textbook
  • The World's History
  • Chapter introductions and learning objectives
  • Online quizzes and maps
  • Writing exercises and essay questions

  • Slide-shows and other presentations

  • Yes, I maintain a HHC Course Site at

  • It contains homework assignments and links to
    sites relevant to HHC in particular and Nobles in
    general

Is there much online homework?
  • No, because you probably share a computer at
    home and might tie it up --as well as your phone
    line
  • However, we do undertake online work in class and
    use sites drawn from my Best of History Websites
    web portal

  • NoblesNet is a key communication tool for this
    course
  • You will receive and send e-mail pertaining to
    HHC
  • You will store your HHC notes and files in your
    NoblesNet portfolio
  • You will access certain HHC files in the
