Title: Wee Wee the French Revolution
1Wee Wee the French Revolution
this presentation was made by Jeff Bocanegra and

2Intro to the Revo
There once were French peasants and merchants who
were in a meeting that had to do with politics.
This third group which was called the third
estates general, was complaining about taxation
and the rich got richer and the poor people got
poorer. The first and second estates removed the
third estate from parliament and this is where
our slide show begins.
3The meeting of the Estates General
- The Meeting of the Estates General was called by
King Louie IVII. The meeting was the first in 30
years. The meeting was called because the third
Estates were complaining about the one vote by
each estates thing. - We think that this did help the rise of Democracy
because this showed how most of the population
which was in the third Estate were complaining
how everything was runned by the first and second
estates. Also they were mad about how each of the
estates only got one vote. But there main reason
was that they were in a Financial crisis and
there was no food to eat for most of the Third
Estates.
4The Tennis Court Oath
- The Tennis court oath was made by people of the
Third Estates. Theyre cause for this was because
they didnt like the First and Second Estates.
They didnt want to be part of the Estates
General . They vowed to make a declaration and
stay in an indoor Tennis Court until they
finished it. This is why it was called The Tennis
Court Oath.
We shall stay here until we get some things done.
5The Storming of the Bastille
- On June 14, 1789 the higher people of the third
estate, merchants etc, attacked the bastille
which held prisoners and had some weaponry and
gun powder inside. They killed 2 guards and the
main warden. - It didnt help France rise to democracy because
the attack let people out that broke the law,
just because they were in their estate. Also it
was a battle outside of the French Revolution
that had nothing to do with it.
6The March on Versailles
- The march of Versailles was a march made by
peasants and women. The peasants and women were
pissed off about how they were promised bread
and had never gotten it. They went to a palace
and destroyed it, leaving it in ruins and saying
a statement. - This was a commitment because this showed that
there is rebellion and it could teach them what
it could do.
7The Reign of Terror
- The Reign of terror was started by Maximilien
Robespierre. He is most commonly known for what
he did to people. He put them in the guillotine
for treason. Most of the French deaths came from
the guillotine. Right after Robespierre died,
they made a republic type of government which
will demolish soon after. - This was not a contribution to Democracy. The
reason was because it showed Tyranny from
Robespierre and no governed people could do
anything.
8The Rise of Napoleon
- The next ruler of France happened to be someone
who had ton of military success. His name was
Napoleon. He reformed the Revolution by crowning
himself Emperor. He set laws that were fair and
contributed to Democracy. But there were also
somethings that didnt help democracy like all,
for example Freedom of Speech.
9Conclusion
- This is how France ended up after the Revolution.
They started as a Absolute Monarchy, and ended up
as a constitutional monarchy. The horrors that
Europe faced were big and in the end the Congress
of Vienna came up.
