What is NAIT?

• NAIT is The National Association of Industrial
  Technology and is recognized as the premiere
  professional association responsible for
• The promotion of industrial technology in
  business, industry, education and government
• The accreditation of industrial technology
  programs at universities, colleges and technical
  institutes
• The certification of industrial technologists and
  recognition of their continued professional
  development.

NAIT aids UND students

• The UND student chapter of NAIT helps students
  apply what they have learned to real world tasks.
• Aids in networking through businesses and other
  organizations to potential career opportunities
  or new business relationships after graduation.

• NAIT has been a part of UND for over 20 years and
  as such has been recognized as an innovative and
  outstanding organization in many areas of
  Industrial Technology.
• One more reason for UND to stand out as a leader
  in education.

• Judges Award for Best Design Innovation.

  Vision Enhanced Robotic Manipulation
• Overall Robotic Manipulator Champion. (2003,2005)

Why are we here?

• The UND chapter of NAIT will be attending this
  years NAIT convention being held in Panama City
  Beach, FL
• We will be entering in the 2007 Robotic
  Manipulation Contest
• We would appreciate the aid of local
  organizations to sponsor our efforts

NAIT Convention

• The NAIT convention is held once a year and
  invites Universities, Technical Institutes and
  Colleges to compete in many areas of Industrial
  Technology.
• The Convention also provides students and
  professionals a place to network and learn from
  each other, as well as opportunities to attend
  workshops and seminars regarding Industrial
  Technology.

The Challenge

• To construct a Tele-Operated (remote controlled)
  Robot capable of locating a 150 lb-pull magnet
  measuring 1x2x5 buried no more than 4 deep,
  in an area of 576 square feet of sandy beach,
  plant an 8 spike with the NAIT logo on a 2x2
  flag within a 3 radius and return to the
  starting point in 8 minutes.

Goals

• Place in each category of the competition
• Take home the overall 1st place award as an
  organization
• Take top honors in the Poster design portion of
  the competition
• Represent UND with cutting edge design and
  innovation with pride and professionalism

How you can help our efforts

• In order to attend and compete we are looking to
  the local area businesses and organizations to
  aid the NAIT organization in funding the parts,
  equipment and tools required to build our robot
  as well as travel and lodging expenses.

What you will receive in appreciation of your

• A custom made plaque to display for your support
  for the 2007-08 NAIT competition representing UND
• Your business or organizations logo on the robot
  and the design poster
• A group photo of the UND NAIT members at the
  convention
• Pride in knowing you supported your local
  University

• In addition, UND will offer the robot used in the
  competition to be displayed at the top five
  contributing businesses for one month each in
  appreciation for their generous contributions.

  department, UND will increase in its already
  outstanding national reputation and distinction.
