- The areas of activity of the Ministry of

food grains, - food control and supervision, plant protection,
veterinary medicine, animal and plant breeding,
land improvement. - The Ministry provides agricultural research,
education and training, and prepares relevant
draft legislation

(ARIB)
- The Estonian Agricultural Registers and
Information Board (ARIB) is a government
institution subordinated to the Ministry of
Agriculture. - ARIBs functions are to maintain the register of
farm animals as well as the register of
agricultural supports and agricultural parcels
and to allocate different agricultural, fishery
and rural development supports. ARIB also
implements the EU agricultural market regulation
measures and milk quota system.

In each county, the county governor establishes
an assessment committee for preparing the ranking
lists of applications. The assessment committee

committee will be established for assessing the
submitted local strategies. This assessment
committee will consist of representatives of the
Ministry of Agriculture, the ARIB, Association of
Municipalities of Estonia, Estonian Chamber of
Agriculture and Commerce, Network of Estonian
Nonprofit Organizations, Estonian Village
Movement KODUKANT, Estonian Rural Network Unit etc
18MONITORING SYSTEM
- monitoring is conducted on the basis of the
common baseline, input, output, result and impact
indicators, described in the ERDP - the basic monitoring information is entered into
the common electronic information system by the
Paying Agency (the ARIB) and the relevant data
are stored there - gathering of monitoring information on the level
of measures and the preparation of reports is
conducted by the Paying Agency and other relevant
institutions - the reports submitted by the ARIB and other
relevant institutions are the basis of the ERDP
annual monitoring report prepared by the Ministry
of Agriculture.
