• The areas of activity of the Ministry of
  Agriculture are
• the rural development policy,
• the agricultural policy,
• the fisheries policy with the purpose of
  developing fishing industry,
• regulation of activities related to the
  processing of agricultural products, agricultural
  market regulation,
• the national stockpiles of basic grain seed and
  food grains,
• food control and supervision, plant protection,
  veterinary medicine, animal and plant breeding,
  land improvement.
• The Ministry provides agricultural research,
  education and training, and prepares relevant
  draft legislation

Agricultural Registers and Information Board
(ARIB)

• The Estonian Agricultural Registers and
  Information Board (ARIB) is a government
  institution subordinated to the Ministry of
  Agriculture.
• ARIBs functions are to maintain the register of
  farm animals as well as the register of
  agricultural supports and agricultural parcels
  and to allocate different agricultural, fishery
  and rural development supports. ARIB also
  implements the EU agricultural market regulation
  measures and milk quota system.

Agricultural Registers and Information Board
(ARIB)

• One of the main tasks of ARIB is the
  administration of national agricultural
  registers. The data of registers are mainly used
  in relation to granting and controlling of
  supports, but also for veterinary and statistical
  purposes.

MONITORING SYSTEM

• monitoring is conducted on the basis of the
  common baseline, input, output, result and impact
  indicators, described in the ERDP
• the basic monitoring information is entered into
  the common electronic information system by the
  Paying Agency (the ARIB) and the relevant data
  are stored there
• gathering of monitoring information on the level
  of measures and the preparation of reports is
  conducted by the Paying Agency and other relevant
  institutions
• the reports submitted by the ARIB and other
  relevant institutions are the basis of the ERDP
  annual monitoring report prepared by the Ministry
  of Agriculture.
