Remarks on this course
  • IT is an area where many people know only a
little bit, and many people know a lot.
  • Many of you probably know a lot about IT, and
also about the topics we talk about in this
    course.
  • The course assumes that you do not know very much
    about IT.
  • If you do know a lot already, and find the topics
a bit trivial and easy, pay some attention anyway
you might learn a bit here and there anyway.
  • Use your knowledge to help each other we are
here to learn, not to have a competition.

10
How we work
  • Try to keep the noise level low, both during
presentations and exercises (we are many people
    in a small space).
  • This also applies if you already know the topic,
    or have completed the exercises.
  • Remember your materials (book, user-name,
password, and so on) for each lecture.
  • Try to complete the exercises yourself, but do
ask for help if you get stuck
  • Help each other if you can

11
Help your teacher, and your self
  • I am a new teacher, and will need a little help
from you to run the course properly.
  • Please tell me, if
  • I speak too fast (or too slow)
  • I speak too low (to too loud)
  • I use too many words that are hard to understand
  • We cover too much material in a lecture
  • Speak up, if you have problems, or there is
    something you do not understand
  • It is not an embarrassment to say if there is
    something you do not understand.

12
Course essentials
  • Bring your materials to each lecture!! (User
name, password, book, and so on).
  • Be here on time.
  • Keep a reasonable noise level.
  • Help each other the starting point on IT
knowledge may be very different from student to
    student.
  • Speak up, if there is something you do not
    understand.
