Winn Dixie
Winn Dixie is a dog that got in to a store and
about a girl named Opal. She said that the dog
was hers. The dog changes a lot in the story. He
helped opal ask her dad about her mom. In the end
Winn Dixie runs away. Winn Dixie is afraid of
thunder storms. When there is a thunder storm
Winn Dixie goes nuts.Winn Dixie is a very
important character in the story.

Opal is a character in the book who does not
always fit in with the kids in the town. But she
made friends with most of the people. Opals
mother left her and her dad. Opal always wants to
know more about her mom but her dad never wants
to talk about her. Opal helps a lot of people
in the beginning and in the end. She gets a lot
of people together as friends.

Opal's mom and dad
Opals mom left her and her dad the preacher and
never came back. The both of them are very sad
about it.In the end she never comes back but Opal
and the preacher have a big talk about her and
about how he tried to have her stay but she would
not.

Otis and Gloria Dump
Otis is a man that works in a pet store. When
Opal found Winn Dixie she wanted to get him a red
lead but it was to much money so Otis said that
she could work for him and that would pay for it.
Otis got put in jail for playing his guitar on
the street and when the cops told him to stop he
would not. Gloria Dump is a good friend of
Opal. She has bad eyes so opal would read her a
book from the library. When they have the party
at her house the dewberry boys almost would not
come because they think that Gloria is a witch.

The Library
The library is were Opal met miss Franny Block.
One time miss Franny thought that Winn Dixie was
a bear and went nuts. Miss Franny is an old lady
and very nice.

The Trailer Park
The trailer park is were Opal and her dad the
preacher live. The trailer park is usually not
for kids but Opal is a good kid and she is not
loud so she is living there. Winn Dixie hates to
be left behind and when he is he barks and gets
sad so they have to bring him every where.

The Winn Dixie Grocery Store
The Winn Dixie grocery store is where every thing
started. When opal went to the store for some
food a dog got in and made a mess and the manager
said that the dog is going to the pound and so
she said the dog was hers and so she took him
home cleaned him up and made him her pet. It was
a very good part of the book.

The Pet Store
Another setting in the story is the pet store.
In the book after Opal takes Winn Dixie she wants
to buy him a cooler but she did not have the
money so Otis the shop owner gave her a job. And
they became good friends.
