Opal

• The main character of the story is India Opal
  Boulni. She is very nice and found a dog at the
  store named Winn-Dixie, and thats what she
  called it. Her father is a preacher who works at
  the church. When she moved to Naomi she had no
  friends, but now she has lots. She loves
  Winn-Dixie a lot.

Winn-Dixie

• The second character is Winn-Dixie. He is the dog
  and is very adventurous. He smiles like no other
  dog, and when he does it he sneezes. Winn-Dixie
  loves everyone and everything around him. If I
  had a dog, I would want him as a pet!

Other Charators

• Some other characters in the story are The
  Preacher, Otis, and Gloria Dump. They all are
  friends with Opal, except for the preacher
  because he is her father. Otis is the owner of
  the pet store. He plays a guitar. Gloria Dump
  became best friends with Opal. Her back yard is
  like a forest and she is very old.Sweetie Pie is
  the last one. She is 5 years old and is having a
  party with Opal!!

Settings

• This story takes place in Naomi. Opal lives in a
  trailer park. They dont allow any kids there
  expect for opal. Another setting is Gloria Dumps
  back yard. It looks like a forest. Gertrude's
  Pets is the last one. Thats where Otis works.
  The library was a small one.

Problems

• There are 2 problems in the book. Let me tell you
  about them.
• 1. Opals Mother went away when she was three
  years old and never came back.
• 2. Winn-Dixie got lost and they could not find
  him for quite a while.

Solutions

• There is no solution to problem one, but there is
  to number two. They found Winn-Dixie in Gloria
  Dumps home sleeping!

This book would be good for...

• I think this book would be good for people who
  like Dogs because it is about a dog named
  Winn-Dixie. This is one of the books that the
  problem does not get solved.Please read it, it is
  very good!

• Dogs are animals, and there are many species.
  Dogs have been around for a very long time. These
  are the tipes like Terriers, Hounds, Sporting,
  Non-Sporting, Toy, and the wild group. This book
  was about dogs.

My Best Part

• My best part of the book was when Opal, at the
  beginning, had no friends but now she has lots of
  friends!!!

My Worst Part

• My worst part of the book was when Opals mother
  never came back to her and her father. I wish
  that would change, but at the end though.

• I thought this book was very good. It was one of
  the best books I have ever read.If you love dogs,
  this is a book for you!!
