UNT Admissions Requirements
  • International application form. Includes
    citizenship, visa status, foreign address, etc.
  • Application fees 75
  • Official academic transcripts in original
    language, with acceptable attestations include
    English translations
  • English language proficiency. E.g. TOEFL
    213c/79i, IELTS 6.5, completion of IELI, etc

  • Proof of financial support documents
  • Bank statement
  • Sponsorship statement
  • Show minimum available funds (includes living
    expenses)
  • Undergraduate 24,570
  • Graduate (includes 2nd Bach) 23,760
  • Additional Transfer Clearance Form (TCF) for
    U.S. college transfer immigration purposes.

UN Freshman evaluation
  • Review for college preparation courses
  • Prefer science stream background
  • Required Mathematics, Natural Science, English,
    and two other subjects (another language,
    geography, history, etc.)
  • Minimum GPA 2.50 (4.00 grading scale)
  • Generally do not admit vocational or
    professional high school graduates

UT Foreign college credit
  • Determine college is accredited or recognized by
    the local Ministry of Higher Education.
  • Most English college courses is considered
    developmental, unless the college is from an
    English speaking country.
  • All other college courses are accepted as
    possible transfer credits. ADMISSIBILITY
  • Students are informed that actual transfer
    credits are determined by academic advisors.

  • Normally taken at 11th grade
  • British-based education system
  • Available worldwide Hong Kong, Jamaica,
    Malaysia, United Kingdom, etc.
  • Indicates High School completion/graduation
  • Freshman admissions No college credit
  • Minimum 5 college-prep subjects Math, Sciences,
    natural Science, English, etc.

Advanced Level Exam (A-level)

  • Normally taken at 13th grade
  • Possible college transfer credits
  • Social Sciences Up to 6 credit hours
  • Natural Sciences Up to 8 credit hours

Advanced-Subsidiary Exam (AS-level)
  • British education system
  • Normally taken at 12th grade
  • Possible college transfer credits
  • Social Sciences Up to 3 credit hours
  • Natural Sciences Up to 4 credit hours
  • NOTE AS-level course content is half of A-level
    syllabus. If students continue and earned A-level
    credit after additional 1 year, may receive
    another 3-4 credit hours each passing subject.

2nd Bachelor -
  • Most INTL do not want a 2nd Bach degree.
  • Determine LT60 and overall GPA
  • Determine attempted and accepted credits.
    Look for transfer stamp.
  • Copy and forward application evaluated
    transcript to Graduate School for admissions
    decision.
  • Forward official transcript to Registrars office
    (c/o David Meek) for DARS entry.

Intensive English Language Institute
  • Completion of the IELI program fulfills UNT
    English language proficiency requirement.
  • Levels 0 (lowest) 6 (highest graduate)
  • Level 6 students may begin undergraduate or 2nd
    Bachelor degree program part-time, while
    completing IELI.
  • Conditional Admissions to UNT
  • Note International Admissions office process
    ALL applications, includes Citizens PR.
