  • Since 1931,the symbol of New York city
  • More than 880 tenants, their businesses the
  • heartbeat of the America marketplace.
  • The building a lifeline to nourish the companies
  • that its 102 floors.

HISTORY
  • CONSTRUCTION Commence March 17, 1930. framework
    rose at rate of 41/2 stories per week.
  • MASONRY Completed on November 13, 1930.
  • TOTAL TIME One year and 45 days including Sunday
    and holidays .(Ahead of schedule) Opened May 1,
    1931.
  • COST 40,948,900(Including land)

WHAT I SAW
  • From the West. I saw, Madison Square Garden.
    Across the Hudson the New Jersey landscape
    stretches out past Newark International Airport,
    and playgrounds of Pennsylvanias Pocono
    Mountains.
  • From the South. I saw The Statue of Liberty,
    Ellis Island, the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges,
    the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge joining the boroughs
    of Brooklyn and State Island.

  • From the North. I saw. 5th Avenue, Rockefeller
    Center, ST.Patricks Cathedral, Plaza Hotel,
    Central Park, Hudson River, George Washington
    Bride which joins New York and New Jersey.
  • From the East. I saw. The Queens Skyline.
    Spanning the river onto Long Island and the
    Triboro, Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges,
    providing access to La Guardia and JFK
    International Airports, Williamsburg Bridge
    reaches into Brooklyn.

  • It is a big building.
  • Very tall.
