• Daughter of Zeus and Metis
• Different from Ares stood for the civilized and
  intellectual side of war
• Seen with helmet and spear

Ares(Mars)

• God of War
• Son of Zeus and Hera
• Violent and brutal and inept in war
• Viewed as senseless war and brutality

Atlas

• One of the Titans
• Led them in unsuccessful battle against Olympians
• Zeus punished him by making him carry the sky on
  his shoulders for eternity
• Petrified by Medusas head (Atlas Mtns)

Aphrodite(Venus)

• Goddess of love, beauty and fertility
• Born out of sea foam
• All men who saw her fell in love
• Wife of Hephaestus
• Had many lovers

Daedalus

• Descendent of Hepaestus
• Killed apprentice for inventing the saw
• Escaped to to Crete hired by King Minos to devise
  labyrinth
• Helped Ariadne escape labyrinth

Icarus

• Son of Daedalus
• Imprisoned on the island with his Father
• Father made two pairs of wings of wax
• Icarus flew too close to the sun, wings melted
  and he died.
