  • The first national womens committee was formed
    in 1970s by Merrilyn Currie and Rexanne Lugar.
  • First meeting in 1976 at CYA Annual Meeting.
  • In 1970s and 80s, no international recognition,
    funding nor network for Canadian Women Sailors.
  • Fundraising main focus.
  • Key Question Keeping women interested in
    sailing during their late teens early 20s.
