What Kind of Animal Isan Anaconda?
  • Anacondas are reptiles. Reptiles have scales.
They are cold-blooded. Most reptiles lay eggs,
but anacondas give birth to live young. They are
vertebrates, so they have spines. Anacondas are
ectothermic. This means they are cold-blooded and
they heat themselves from outside their body. The
sun is one way that snakes warm their bodies.

3
Where Anacondas Live
  • The anaconda lives in swamps in South America.

4
What Anacondas Like To Eat
  • Anacondas eat small animals like birds, mice and
    meat. They are carnivores.

5
How Anacondas Survive
  • The anaconda survives by eating birds and small
mammals. I think there are two different ways to
fight. They are by biting and hiding. An anaconda
is a reptile. They squeeze their prey to death.

Life of an Anaconda
  • Anacondas are born alive not from eggs. Baby
anacondas are called neonates. Neonates do not
eat for the first few months. Because they are so
small, baby anacondas are good prey for other
animals. Right after birth, neonates can hunt,
swim, and care for themselves. They continue to
grow until about age 3 or 4. Anacondas can live
    to be about thirty.
