The Start of Canadian Art

• Before 1850 Canadian art created much controversy
  to artists around the world.
• Canadian art was not a popular form of art then.
• Various new styles were brought up into Canada
  and many of them were used in most Canadian art.

How They All Met

• MacDonald, Varley, Limser, Carmichael, Johnston,
  and Thomson all met at Grip Ltd.
• Canadian art interested these group of friends
  and discussed about it many times after work.
• After Grip Ltd., the members had gone to peruse
  their love for painting.

Main Accomplishments

• The groups first exhibition had set a toll on
  critics and created much artistic controversy
  within the art world.
• The group were had a big reputation, and inspired
  other starting Canadian artists.
• The group had made the world see Canadian art at
  a different view and they had set Canada on the
  map.

Interesting Facts

• The group had opened their own studio for other
  Canadian artists to meet and discuss art.
• The group had actually announced that they were
  an official group in 1920 before their first art
  exhibition.
• Members of the group were added later on during
  the years such as Holgate, Fitzgerald, and Casson.

After the Exhibitions

• After the booming success of the groups
  exhibitions, a few continued to paint but some
  spent their time with their families.
• They had made a goal to be known for their
  individuality and they had succeeded quite well.

Why They Are Famous

• The group had set an initial concept on Canadian
  art, and they had a mark in the art world.
• They made critics recognize Canada as a beautiful
  place and they had made the country known.

Conclusion

• Canadian art had made Canada known to the World,
  and of course they had set a mark in our Canadian
  history.
• Questions that I had of the Group of Seven had
  been answered, it has been a pleasure to research
  of a group of artists that created some of
  Canadas history.
