  • Minimum Requirements (must be met before
    proceeding with the upgrade process)
  • 1. Minimum Age.......................17
  • 2. Time in Current Grade.........12 months
  • 3. Cumulative Game Experience (USSF-affiliated
    games employing DSC only)
  • as Referee .......................75 games
  • as Assistant Referee .....25 games
  •  Additional Requirements that must be completed
    in this order
  • Attend 5 hour upgrade clinic
  • Complete the USSF Referee Test with a grade of 85
    or better. If the Test is failed, it may not be
    taken again for at least 3 months after which it
    must then be retaken in its entirety. Test may be
    taken at any Entry Level Referee Course, by
    special arrangement with a SDI
  • Successfully pass the specific USSF Physical
    Fitness test
  • Successfully pass one (1) field evaluation by a
    USSF Assessor as Referee on a U-17-19 (90 min
    game) or State Cup (Quarters, Semis or Final) 
  • Contact assignor for the game
  • Must request assessment via NJ SRC Referee Office

  • The NJSRC will pay for the first assessment.  If
    you fail you will need to make up 2 assessments
    for the one failed (2 for 1) and responsible to
    pay, in advance, for the 2 make up assessments.
    Please note all of the above must be done in
    calendar year.

  • Minimum Requirements (must be met before
    proceeding with the upgrade process)
  • 1. Minimum Age ..............................18
  • 2. Time in Current Grade ................12
    months
  • 3. Cumulative Game Experience (only your U-19
    USSF-affiliated or higher games employing DSC
    will be considered for upgrade)
  • as Referee ............................100
    games
  • as Assistant Referee ............25 games
  •  Additional Requirements that must be completed
    in this order
  • Attend upgrade clinic
  • Complete the USSF Referee Test with a grade of 75
    or better. If the Test is failed, it may not be
    taken again for at least 3 months after which it
    must then be retaken in its entirety. Test may be
    taken at any Entry Level Referee Course, by
    special arrangement with a SDI
  • Successfully pass the specific USSF Physical
    Fitness test
  • Successfully pass two (2) assessments as a
    referee (one at adult Division 2 or higher) and
    one as an assistant referee on a competitive U-19
    or higher 90 minute match.
  • Contact assignor for the game.
  • Must request assessment via Referee Office.
  •   The NJSRC will pay for the first assessment.

  • 1. Minimum Age.......................19
  • 2. Time in Current Grade.........12 months
  • 3. Cumulative Game Experience (only your
    USSF-affiliated U-19 competitive or higher games
    employing DSC will be considered for this
    upgrade)
  • as Referee .........150 games of which at
    least 50 must be on men's Top Amateur (using the
    DSC)
  • as Assistant Referee .....50 games

  • Additional Requirements that must be completed in
    this order
  • Attend upgrade clinic
  • Complete the USSF Referee Test with a grade of 85
    or better. If the Test is failed, it may not be
    taken again for at least 3 months after which it
    must then be retaken in its entirety. Test may be
    taken at any Entry Level Referee Course, by

  • Successfully pass the specific USSF Physical
    Fitness test pass two (2) field assessments by a
    USSF Assessor as Referee and one (1)
