AIDS facts
  • 40 million people worldwide are living with HIV
  • 25 million people have died since AIDS was first
    identified in the 1980s
  • 15 million children worldwide have lost one or
    both parents as a result of AIDS
  • More than 3 million people die as a result of
    AIDS each year

At the end of 2005, the Center for Disease
Control estimated that 437,982 people were living
with AIDS in the U.S.
