Türkiye, indeed!

• Turkey itself is colorful and diverse, with
  figures ranging from snowcapped mountains to
  forests from wide green meadows to broad and
  calm lakes. Lucky to see four seasons over its
  impressive land, Turkey is a real opportunity for
  a real experience. Certainly, it is beyond the
  bounds of possibility to see all this vast amount
  of natural and historical beauty at once, but one
  may start from one of the Seven Geographical
  Regions, which are the divisions made in
  accordance with varying physical and climatic
  characteristics.

Music" is originated on the steppes of Asia.
Until recently it has
not been written down.
Traditions are kept alive by asiklar.

Mehter Takimi" military music (Janissary
Band) originated in
Central Asia, and is played with kettle
drums, clan-nets, cymbals, and
bells. The symbol of independence in the
Islamic States. Austrians, Prussians,
Russians, Germans and the French formed
musical bands similar to the mehter band.
Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven are told to be
impressed by this music while composing their
masterpieces.

Semazenler-Mevleviler" ( the Whirling
Dervishes) dominated by the haunting sound of the
reed pipe or "ney", and can be heard in Konya
during the Mevlana Festival in December.

Who is Mevlana?

• known as Rumi,
• a philosopher and mystic of Islam, but not a
  Muslim of the orthodox type.
• His doctrine unlimited tolerance, positive
  reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness
  through love.
• To him and to his disciples all religions are
  more or less truth. Looking with the same eye on
  Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and
  tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all
  sects and creeds.
