A bit of history

• The origins of papier mache is as ancient as the
  making of paper
• Paper was invented in China 2nd century AD.
• Paper was very rare and expensive, therefore
  papier mache craft was the very first recycling
  art form!

Jewelry Box Requirements

• 1. Depicts a Famous work of art or recognizable
  style of an artist
• 2. Solid construction sturdy base or feet
• 3. Smooth application of 3 layers
• 4. A secure fitting lid with latch or handle
• 5. Finished Well (good color mixing, etc)

Construction Steps

• Make your armature with cardboard, tape, plastic
  containers

• Apply smooth even layer of newspaper using papier
  mache. Dry overnight.
• Do this 3 times, or until super smooth!!! (3
  layers)

• Neatly apply paint to complete your project.
