    Traditions/Cultural

    especially youth. Other American ethic groups
    have similar challenges.

    Theory of stages. Developmental functions by the
    EPIGENTIC PRINCIPLE. This principle says that we
    develop through predetermined unfolding of our
    personalities in eight states (Rose).

  • Adolescence EGO-IDENTITY vs ROLE CONFUSION is a
    psychosocial crisis.
  • NSRTC attempts to achieve EGO-IDENTITY and avoid
    ROLE CONFUSION
  • Define Ego-identify means knowing who you are
    and how you fit in to the rest of society. It
    requires that you take all youve learned about
    life and yourself and mold it into a unified
    self-image.

  • Cultural time moccasin making, pottery, beadwork,

    traditional value with corn meal/pollen, foods,
    spirit bowl
  • Special options school has Native History classes
  • Spiritual overnight passes for kiva, blessing
    ways, night chants, medicine men, healing
    ceremonies
  • Active sweat lodge with approved facilitators
  • Inter-tribal cultural sessions with speakers on
    Rites of Passages, birthing naming ceremony,
    corn/tobacco medicines other topics
  • Visits to Tribal Communities

  • AFTERCARE surveys incorporate questions on
    continuing and maintaining Native identify and
    community presentation.
