Office Hours
  • The Shadowood on-site office is open for all
    association business
  • Office Hours
  • Monday Friday 9 AM 5 PM
  • Tuesdays only until 7 PM
  • Please enter through the FRONT doors

Heating / Air Conditioning
  • The heating system is now on
  • If you have no heat, call the office for a no
    heat service order.
  • Air Conditioning will not available mid to late
    April 2007 based on weather and Board direction.
    It cannot be turned on sooner.
  • Once the air conditioning is on, the heating will
    not be available until Fall 2007.

Call for Volunteers!
  • Hearings Panel. One hour a month commitment.
  • Neighborhood Watch. Meets as needed, calls police
    when suspicious activities observed
  • Maintenance and Safety. Recommends community
    improvement projects to board and notifies staff
    of safety problems.

  • Approved CFR Engineering HVAC Study
  • Approved remaining island landscaping projects
  • Approved 7 spot landscaping upgrades
  • Discussed stairwell tile replacements tabled
  • Raised late fee to 75
  • Approved Clubhouse roof leak repair

Pest Management
  • Triple S Pest Control provides FREE interior
    pest-control services for all SCA residents
  • 3 addresses/stairwells a week are treated and up
    to 4 additional units on the property can be
    accommodated each week
  • Call the office on 703-620-5444 for treatments OR
    if you want to be excluded
  • Treatments are on Fridays. Either be home or have
    a key at the office for contractor entrance

Pest Management
  • For best results on pest control
  • All units in a stairwell should be treated on the
    same day
  • Remove and recycle all paper bags from your unit.
    Cockroaches and their eggs may be brought home in
    paper bags
  • Empty garbage containers EVERY day
  • Do not leave dirty dishes or cooking utensils out
    overnight. Good housekeeping is very important!

Rule Reminders
  • Nothing may be stored in any stairwell, including
    bicycles, boxes, trash or recycling items
  • Only normal patio items may be kept on balconies
    and patios. No boxes, indoor furniture,
    motorcycles (!), brooms, mops and tools, nothing
    over the railings to dry!
  • Children may not play in the streets!
  • Back-in Parking is NOT ALLOWED

IMPORTANT REMINDER!
  • Carpeting is NO LONGER permitted on any balcony
    or patio and must be removed
  • Please remove any carpeting attached to your
    balcony or patio
  • Small, removable doormats are permitted, but
    nothing more

  • Leaking faucets? Running toilets? Report them to
    H2Options at (703) 242-2201 for FREE repair
  • Need a window screen? Get them from the SCA
    office for 25.00 No cash, please
  • Need a Mailbox or storage room lock? Get one
    from the SCA office for 10.00

Community Reminders (2)
  • All exterior unit modifications, including new
    windows and doors, require Reston Association
    approval. New windows or doors must be the same
    color as the originals
  • Want to plant something on the common elements?
    Please contact the Board first!
  • Call the SCA office to report blinking or burned
    out stairwell or security lights

Help Prevent Floods!
  • Check your washer water hoses for bulges and
    replace as necessary
  • SCA sells burst-proof washer hoses Get a set
    from the office for 35.00 (no cash please)
  • Ground-floor units are strongly urged to have
    water back-up insurance protection SCAs policy
    does not cover water backups

Cable TV and Internet
  • Comcast Cable TV is now included in the monthly
    assessment sent to all owners
  • Call Comcast on (703) 716-9701 to obtain service
    or for trouble calls
  • High-speed internet service rollout is planned
    for later this year
  • Free wireless (hot spot) service is now available
    in the SCA Clubhouse

Parking (1)
  • Parking rules and regulations are STRICTLY
    enforced at Shadowood
  • Two decals per unit no more / no fewer
  • SCA does not reimburse for towing or storage
    expenses under any circumstances
  • Contact the Shadowood office for visitor parking

Parking (2)
  • Unit liability insurance for owner (and tenant if
    unit is rented) must be in force and on file at
    the SCA Office before decals will be issued.
  • Virginia license plates and current inspection
    sticker required
  • UOSR must be completed and on file at the SCA
    Office
  • Decals will be issued during normal office hours
    Monday Friday
  • 2007 Decals must be displayed by May 1st

Parking Lot
  • All fire lanes and speed bumps are painted yellow
  • No parking any time in these areas
  • Parking Space Numbers will be repainted during
    the week of April 17th

    areas needing cleaning or repairs
  • Please remember all yellow curbs are no-parking
    zones
  • Shadowoods speed limit is 10 MPH

Parking Island Work
  • The Board voted at its March meeting to replant
    the three remaining parking islands.
  • Work will soon begin on replanting the remaining
    the parking islands (One in Phases I, III, and
    IV).
  • Plans are available in the office for review.
  • Please check this channel and stairwell notices
    for details on any parking restrictions

Car Washing Area
  • Near the ClubhouseSCA Decal Required to use!
  • Daylight hours only closed during winter
  • NO LOUD NOISE OR MUSIC!!
  • Hoses must be used and must have a spray
    attachment
  • Do not waste water no fluid changing no repair
    work other than washing!

Window Screens
  • All windows in all units must have screens
  • Patio doors must have BROWN screens
  • Replacement window screens are available for sale
    in the office price is 25.00 each, check or
    money orders onlyNO CASH!
  • SCA does not sell patio-door screens

Grilling at Shadowood
  • Only electric grills may be used and stored on
    balconies and patios no extension cords!
  • Gas and charcoal grills MAY NOT be used or stored
    on any patio or balcony at any time use them 15
    feet away from the buildings
  • Gas containers may NEVER be stored in any unit,
    storage room or on a balcony or patio
