  • The shortest summary of our findings of what
    makes for quality on-line courses is, Its the
    pedagogy, stupid! Far from there being no more
    costly professors, on-line courses represent an
    arena of struggle between those who see them as a
    way of maximizing profit versus those who see
    them as way of improving quality as well as
    access to education. (Hiltz et al, 2000)
