- Building a consortium including different parties
which have different roles, i.e. on the business
model, technology, sales and marketing,
promotion, leveraging sides. - Designing a reliable business model (the
consortium will bring out a business model
regarding revenue generation and sharing). - Searching for funds or sponsors financing the
whole projects up-front investments. - Roll-out of the GDTS to the TPs all over the
world. - Defining GTDS feature details and the training
program of the GDTS usage for the TPs . - Constructing the internet based GDTS platform
including required applications, HW/SW, operation
process, customer contact center to handle user
problems and / or questions. -
6Community added value and contribution to EC
policies
- Since the project targets the SMEs especially in
developing or less developed countries, it
addresses the Trade Point Program from United
Nations Conference on Trade and Development (
UNCTAD) - a worldwide concept . - The Internet based technologies give the
possibility to deploy the project anywhere-
independent of geography. - The project will help the SMEs to establish the
culture of working in different geographies, in
different commerce environments with different
cultures. This will lead to economical
improvement and social balance. - Since bringing the SME communities together and
building interrelations between them is an issue
concerning globalization, support at European
level is a major contribution. - The TPs will be actively working on the sales and
marketing side of this project, while the WTPF
will be the actual owner of the whole project. So
interrelations between these groups will
strengthen the international trading balance
between different countries.
7Contribution to Community social objectives
- Expected Outcome / Benefits
- This project will support the TPs to get the
existing SME data and also further data on a
central platform. Access to an international
trading platform from anywhere and anytime with
the latest technology. - The platform will guide the SMEs to develop
themselves, to be part of the globalization
trend, to compete with large enterprises. - The business model demands no investments on the
SME (user), TP and WTPF side. - Actually this project aims to bring equal trading
opportunities, e-business advantages to those who
could not afford it. - Probable Consortium
- Leader SBS Turkey, Coordinator, Project Manager
- World Trade Point Federation- Switzerland
- World Trade Point Federation-member associations
- SBS Switzerland, other SBS organisations within
EU countries - Dominet - Turkey
- ARA Ltd. Turkey
8Economic Development and scientific and
technological prospects
- Helping the TPs and the SMEs to access an
international trading platform in a cost
effective way means helping a countrys economics
since SMEs are important contributors to the
economies of that country. - Competition and economic difficulties in
developing and less developed countries force the
SMEs to access a new sales territorium and build
export facilities. - All parties having the same target (i.e. to
interact and trade with the SMEs in an
international base) are expected to use GDTS
platform and to bring their own value added
experience . - Decreasing variations in the knowledge levels of
different parties will lead to decreased
variations in the business understanding of
different parties. Enabling these different
parties to get to know each other, will establish
the culture of doing business together.
