8General Practice Expectations
- On the field, Players helmets are on at all
times - Players WILL hustle at all times Absolutely
no walking on the practice field - Hustle in transition to the next drill, next
period, water, etc. Move with a purpose - Players FINISH every drill full speed until
they are back in line - Players will abide by Offensive and Defensive
Norms - Listen when a Coach is talking LockIn

make to this team is to be a positive leader

9Player Expectations
1. Be a Leader If you want to be a Champion, you
first have to act like one. Lead by
Example Show me, Dont tell me 2. Set a
Higher Standard Hold yourself to a higher
standard and compete against yourself. Just
dont earn a starting spot. Set goals and strive
to reach them. 3. Be Committed Dedicate
yourself to becoming a better person and making
this program better. Always speak highly about
the program and your loyalty to it. "There are
only two options regarding commitment you're
either in or you're out.

4. Be Respectful Treat all players at all levels
with respect as they are part of this Laker
football family. Address Coaches properly and
listen when they speak. 5. Out-Work All
Others All-out effort every time, all the time
it gets noticed It takes no talent to
hustle. The harder you work, the harder it is to
surrender. There is no substitute for hard
work 6. Be Disciplined Do the little
things "Excellence is achieved through the
attention to details 7. Be a Good Team
Mate Football is the ultimate team game and you
have to be willing to push and motivate
others. Never allow a teammate to settle for
being average motivate them to elevate their
game. Make positive choices on a daily basis.
Dont EVER let your teammates and coaches down.

8. Show Passion Football is an emotional game
and dont be afraid to show how much it means to
you. Enthusiasm is contagious you lead the
way. 9. Have Courage If you get knocked down,
get up and go again. Dont back down to anyone
or anything. Instill that competitive mindset
that anyone who Prior Lake plays, is in for the
battle of their life. 10. Believe If you truly
believe it can happen, it will. Belief is a
powerful thing and there can be no doubt from
anyone on this team. "Imagine how good our team
would be if everyone worked as hard as you."
12Discipline Plan
Not all players have or will Buy into the
philosophy and expectations of this program.
There will be players that do not follow team
rules or the expectations set forth by this
Coaching Staff. Listed below are the steps in
which all coaches will follow if and when
disciplinary action needs to take place.
Strike 1 - Position Coach or Grade level Coach
will meet with the player before or after
practice and site SPECIFIC examples of how their
behavior is un-acceptable and how it effects the
TEAM. Discuss what changes you as coaches need
to see in the players behavior or they will move
to strike 2. Strike 2 - Written documentation.
Meet with position coach/Grade level coach AND
HEAD Coach. A form to be sent home stating
specific behaviors which are un-acceptable and
steps already taken by the coaching staff to
address this behavior. May also include a parent
phone call home. Strike 3 Players will be
dismissed from the team

- Fumble Ball Control being lost by the Offense.
- In the hand-off exchange the QB is always
responsible for the fumble before the LOS. - Open field any player close to ball needs to make
an effort. In drills the person handling ball
should make an effort to recover the football. - Off-sides Jumping before the designated count.
- Linemen can check count on line by Saying
Candy, THE REAPONDING Linemen can say the count
Hut, Hut 2, or Set. - Not Having a Player Player forgets to go in, or
no player steps in. - In many cases players need to be responsible for
their own reps. Players need to be focused and
know when to go in.

- Not Running after a Play During team all members
of the offense should run 10 yards following the
play if applicable. - Not Carrying out a Fake It is of extreme
importance to our offense that players carry out
their fakes with 100 percent effort. - Swearing Foul language will not be permitted by
players.

especially when coach is talking. - This also holds true in the huddle

19Warm - ups
- Players meet at the south end of the practice
fields - Players jog a lap as a group around the Varsity
practice field NO CUTTING CORNERS - Players jog through the south goalpost and jog
all the way to their position stretch - 4. Position stretch players hold each stretch
for 10-15 seconds - Spread em reach down and back between legs
- Lean to the right
- Lean to the left

20Warm - ups
- 5. Sidelines Form runs
- Players will hustle to the yard line by them and
get in even lines - Middle line calls out set, HIT and lines on
both sides start - Players will form run to the near hash and jog
the rest - High Knees, Butt kicks, Carioca (switch ½ way),
Back pedal turn, acceleration, full sprint
- 6. Clap it in
- Players start with a slow clap and then yell
Lakers on three lead by a captain - Players will take a knee in front of the coach
and listen for instructions

23Laker Football Players Will
- Represent the TEAM with CLASS at all times
- Hustle at all times ON and OFF the field
- Keep our Helmets on, unless told otherwise
- Not draw attention to ourselves through apparel
or behaviors ON the field or sidelines - Remain in control of our emotions at all times on
and off the field, but not limit our enthusiasm - Take adversity (ups downs) in stride and ALWAYS
believe the team will persevere
