ABSTRACT
MODEL of DEVELOPMENT of EXTRACT RAW MATERIAL from
Justicia
gendarussa Burm. f. Which is FREE from ALKALOID
The aim of this research is to find out
how to develop extract of Justicia gendarusa
Burm. f., which is free from alkaloid but the
flavonoid is still on there. Among the chemical
contents of Justicia gendarussa Burm. f. leaves
are alkaloid and flavonoid. Alkaloids are often
toxic, have a bitter taste they often impart to
the tongue, having nausea and vomiting effects
and more or less toxic substances which act
primarily on the nervous system.
This study was done to free the alkaloid
without eliminating the flavonoid, with
extraction process of maceration and decoction.
To liberate alkaloid from extract was doing
phases extraction with any solvent and same
method by maceration. Also have been done the
decoction of fresh leaves and decoction simplicia
leavest. Identifying of alkaloid and flavnoid
were done using precipitation, colour test,
TLCand HPLC.
Result showed that with all methods,
maceration and decoction can
liberate alkaloid from extract of the leaves of
justicia gendarusa Burm. f. without
eliminating the flavonoid.
