- Tournament games when we are short of officials
3SOME CHARACTERISTICS
- Requires a very careful pre-game
- One times the other writes
- Whistle all stoppages so other referee knows what
is going on there will be a lot more whistles
than you are used to - Whistle all restarts so no one is surprised
- Mimic all signals
- Maintain position as ARs who are allowed to step
onto the field - You are still responsible for off-side

- Establish cordial relationship and
responsibilities - Review proper static and dynamic positioning
- Discuss levels of competition, foul and
misconduct management

- Understand the need to be consistent
- Make lots of eye contact the players will sense

Substitutions
- At proper stoppage of play, responsible official
uses instructional whistle to indicate
substitution delay. - Upon last sub taking place on the field,
responsible official indicates by hand signal to
official monitoring the restart that play may
resume. - Restart official whistles ball into play

- When foul will be penalized
- Almost impossible to call advantage
- Sharp, single blast of the whistle
- Give time-out signal if appropriate
- Signal direction of restart DFK or IFK
- Lead Official whistles restart

- Determine that Misconduct must be carded
- Stop play stop the clock
- Present the yellow, red or red/yellow card above
