• We are too sophisticated to do what they did,
  right?
• Other things that are idolatry
• Worship gods of other religions (ex. Islam and
  Hinduism)
• Forming a god in your mind

A Subtle Form of Idolatry

• My god would not send me to hell for lying
• My Jesus is a god of love. He would not condemn
  anyone!
• My Jesus did not teach against things like
  divorce or homosexuality. He wants those people
  to be happy and love whomever they want!

How Does God Respond to Idolatry?

• Exodus 205 He is a jealous God
• Hosea and Gomer
• Idolatry is spiritual harlotry/adultery
• For they provoked Him with their high places, And
  aroused His jealousy with their graven images
  (Psalm 7858).
• Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? (1
  Corinthians 1022).
