5
This technique unwraps the faces of a mesh into a
flat surface. You can draw a texture on this map,
and the 3D program (Blender) will map the image
back onto the model.
6
Make a Seam to Unwrap Around
  • The mesh will unfold from this seam.

7
Select all edges
8
Choose to unwrap
Go to mesh, select UV Unwrap, choose smart
projection, and click ok.
9
Go to the UV/Image Editor
10
Add a Blank Image
By adding a new image, the enabling texture
painting, you can draw on the mesh in a way. Try
drawing on the texture. Now go to the 3d work
area to see its effect!
11
Go back into the 3d view to see this texture (or
what you made) on your cube!
12
Make sure your in textured mode.
13
Add YOUR Name to YOUR Rocket!
  • Now that you know how to make a texture, lets
    label your rocket.
  • Remember, this is only on of many ways to
texture. Keep practicing to learn them all.

14
Now Lets Add Some Detail
  • Now you know the basics of blender
  • Modeling (object/edit modes)
  • Texturing (UV/Image editing)
  • Materials (basic changes to surfaces)
  • Game Engine (intro to logic)
  • Add some cool designs to your rocket. Maybe a
texture of metal for the hull or screws for the
cockpit? Youre the builder so you decide!
