  planes to attack the ground forces of the enemy.

• Battle of Britain After the defeat of France,
  Hitler tried to take Britain.
• Before Hitler could invade England, his air force
  had to achieve air superiority.
• The Germans failed to gain air superiority and
  the invasion was called off.
• One reason the British won the Battle of Britain
  was the new technology of radar.
• Radar allowed the British to locate and intercept
  German planes before they could bomb their
  targets.
