Examples of Declarative Sentences
  • Mr. Jacobs is greatly missed at Madrid Middle
    School.
  • Mrs. Aguayo teaches seventh grade at Madrid.

Imperative Sentence
  • Gives a command
  • Makes a request
  • Most imperative sentences end with a period
  • A strong command ends with an exclamation point
    (!)
  • You is always the understood subject

  • Stop it!
  • Please give me a piece of watermelon.
  • Sit down students.

  • Asks a question
  • Ends with a question mark (?)
